DescriptionBrass pan with hinged lid and long handle. Pan has brass socket for handle riveted to it with copper. Hinge for cover is riveted with copper to top of socket and rim of lid. At front of lid is small brass loop handle. Rims of lid and pan rolled around iron wire, and decorated on outside with stamped diagonal lines, giving rope appearance. Cover has stamped design of scrolls which form a circle. From circle are five points, from which are various scroll designs. Five pierced holes through cover near center, five groups of six holes around a seventh near edge of cover (40 holes all together). Incised rings on inside and outside of bottom of pan. Handle turned on lathe, decorative turnings at top end, varnished.
