DescriptionBed warmer or warming pan. Brass pan with hinged lid and long wood handle. Pan has flat bottom, c. 1" rim rolled around iron wire. Riveted to pan is socket for handle. Attached to socket and rim of pan is hinge for lid. Copper rivets attach lid to hinge. Lid had c. 1" rim, edge rolled around iron wire. At front of lid a small brass loop handle. Pattern stamped on lid: three-pointed swirl in center; around it, large three-pointed shape, between points of which are arc designs; in each arc is a design of six scrolled lines, around which arcs of small circles, lines, and pierced holes (18 holes altogether). Handle turned on lathe, decorative turnings at top, stained light brown.
