DescriptionScoop-like tinplate box with wooden handle for carrying hot coals. Bottom and sides of box of one piece of tinplate; bottom angled up at front to form scoop. Back and top of one piece flanged to bottom and sides. Sides and top rolled around wire at opening for lid. Lid has edges bent down, and perforated with 23 punched holes arranged symmetrically in rows of two and three. Wire loop handle at front of lid. Cover hinged at wire at back. Box handle at angle, attached with two iron plates and rivets. Handle turned on lathe, ring at base. At tip of handle is small knob of iron with string attached. [
