DescriptionCherry, oak. Candlestand (light stand), square top. Three reverse curved legs, with snake feet with slight pads and slight corner at front, all dovetailed into base of central shaft. "Y" shaped iron brace nailed into legs and base of shaft. Shaft turned on lathe: straight on base, urn or cup shape, and tall tapering section. Top of shaft attached to horizontal brace which is screwed into bottom of top, across grain. Ends of brace beveled. Top of one piece of wood, square with rounded corners and two large scallops on each side. American.
