DescriptionPine, oak. Red painted gateleg table with drawer. Four heavy, square, straight legs with chamfered corners. Opposite legs are in two pieces with outer halves swinging on gates to support leaves. Legs joined at bottom by heavy stretchers. Side stretchers split at center and hinged to form bottom of gate. Horizontal brace between legs at top, with rabbet on inside to support drawer. Apron pieces along sides, finger-jointed and pivoted at center to form top of gates. Apron at one end, other end open for drawer. Apron pieces chamfered at bottom. Flat, rectangular top with rectangular drop leaves hinged on bottom pegged into tops of legs. Drawer rabbeted and nailed at front, dovetailed at back, bottom nailed on. Turned oak pull.
