DescriptionOak, pine. Joint stool. Flat seat with quarter-round molded edge. Much later rough-cut pine brace screwed into bottom of seat. Seat on frame of four legs joined by apron pieces at top and stretchers near bottom. All joints mortise and tenon. Legs turned on lathe, square at top and bottom where aprons and stretchers joined. Legs are splayed to sides, but not to ends. Bottom edge of aprons molded, bottom edge of side aprons also have cut out shape in two curves. Top edge of stretchers molded. Oak (?) additions to bottoms of three legs, with added oak pieces to insides of all four. Stained or painted dark brown or black.
