DescriptionBeech (European), maple, oak, cane. High back, caned William and Mary arm chair. Back posts angled back above seat. Back posts turned with columnar section at back. Back posts fit into elaborately pieced and carved crest with scrolls and foliage. Continuous molding around crest, vertical back rails, and lower back rail, with caning. Front posts have Spanish feet, cup and vase turnings, fit into bottoms of arms. Arms contoured, curved, with scrolled "ram's head" hand rests. Plain seat rails. Front stretcher (replacement) turned with two large bulbs. One stretcher each on side and back and median stretcher, all turned.
