DescriptionBeech (European), cane. High back, caned William and Mary arm chair. Back posts angled back above seat, turned with columnar section at back, rign and bulb at tops. Back posts fit into crest. Crest elaborately pierced and carved in vartiation of flemish scroll. Continuous molding around crest, two vertical back rails, and lower back rail, with caning. Front posts turned with ball feet, vase-like turnings, and vase and cup turnings above seat. Front posts fit into arms, which are contoured, curved, and have "ram's head" scrolled hand rests. Seat rail plain. Pierced and carved front stretcher, similar to crest. One stretcher each on sides and back, and median stretcher, all turned.
