DescriptionWood, rush. "Carver" type arm chair with rush seat. Front legs extend above seat to support arms. Back posts & front legs vertical, turned on lathe. Turnings are straight with incised rings. Ball, reel, and ball at top of back posts. Tops of front legs cut off. Arms insterted into top of front legs and back posts. Arms turned. Three horizontal spindles between back posts above seat, between bottom two are three vertical spindles, all turned with pointed ends, and bulb-like shapes at center. Two stretchers each on sides and front, one at bottom of back, all plain. Seat rails inserted into front legs and back posts. Bottoms of legs possibly cut off. Stained or painted red, not original.
