DescriptionAdjustable candle stand (light stand) with rachet. Bottom part consists of round bottom piece with three ball feet doweled on, with two uprights each with a tongue on the inside, joined at top by a cross piece with a square hole in the center. Top consists of a round top piece, doweled to the bottom of which is a vertical piece with six rachet teeth cut in it. Rachet piece fits through hole in cross piece, teeth resting on edge of hole to adjust level. At bottom of rachet, piece is arched piece with groove in each end which slides on tongues of uprights. At center of bottom is a decorative piece with irregular zig-zag shaped extension, doweled to bottom. Stained red? and varnished. Painted stripes at one time. 3 incised lines across center of cross piece.
