DescriptionPair of andirons (a,b) each with 4 legs. Uprights and front legs of flat iron piece. Front legs have slight foot to outside and make an arch. Uprights slightly tapered at top. Top flattened even more with oval shape, from which spring iron bars which curve forward and have a large knob on the end. Knobs are cubes with flattened corners. Horizontal bars are large, square in cross-section, riveted through front of upright just above where front legs spread. Bars slope back, curve down at back to form leg. Near center of each horizontal bar is a fourth leg, a thin round iron rod riveted through horizontal bar. Hand forged.
