DescriptionPair of andirons (a,b). Both: legs and upright flat, apparently welded. Legs and upright angled slightly back. Legs form and arch, with slight point at top. Feet at bottoms of legs point out. Upright flat and straight. At top it is flattened more and shaped to an oval, from which springs a round iron bar which curves first back, then forward and down, with large knob at front. Knob is a cube with corners flattened. Horizontal bar is large, square in cross-section. It is riveted through front of upright at point where legs join it. Slopes down slightly to back, where sharply bent down to form rear leg. Hand-forged.
