DescriptionPair of andirons. Brass, iron. Reverse-curved front legs, slipper-like feet, spurs at knees. Iron bolt through legs, front of log rest, on to which uprights screw at top. Uprights hollow cast brass in two sections. Turnings from bottom: straight base, round plinth, ring, two long narrow reels, large ball with concave band, reel, round steeple section, rings reel and knob at top. Behind uprights are smaller uprights with turnings that echo the larger ones. Brass plate over front of log rests. Log rests flat iron bars bent down at back for rear legs.
