DescriptionPair of andirons (a,b) with two spithooks on each. Legs and uprights of one flat piece, angled back slightly. Legs form an arch, feet point out. Uprights taper slightly toward top, where flattened and formed to oval, raised wedges at lower corners. From ovals spring round iron bars which curve forward. At ends of bars are solid knobs of cubes with flattened corners. Log rests are heavy square bars rived through uprights above legs, slope down slightly and bent at right angle at back to form rear leags. Forge welded to back of oval section of each upright are two flat strips, one over the other, which extend down and are hooked at bottom to form rests for spits. Ends of spithooks curled out slightly. Hand-forged.
