At bottom edge of dish is a tinplate tube fitted through hole, at front end of which is soldered a candle socket. Circular piece in center around which four concentric rings of 29 wedges each (no piece where arm projects at bottom), some now missing. Glass set with some sort of black or dark glue onto a 19th century American newspaper backing. Edge of tinplate dish turned up. Back and candle socket once painted black. Wired for electric light: wire fed through hollow arm and into candle socket.
