DescriptionCircular tinplate base with molded edge. Hole in center, through which is flanged tinplate stem -- a simple tube. Bottom of which somehow fits into iron piece, and top of which fits inside an iron ring with spur that curves down. Slot cut in side of stem for ejector. Iron handle fits through slot, connected to disk which slides up and down candle socket as handle is moved. Handle on ejector is oval, and has impressed on it: "Patented 1888". Date may not be correct, unclear. Painted at one time? Possibly made by Merriam, Harris, Wheeler, and Merriam (see below).
