DescriptionPair of candlesticks (a,b). Brass. Hollow cast, two halves brazed together, and finishd on a lathe (brazing seams not visible). Bases square, with circular section rising in center. End of stem fits through hole at top of base, end spread to lock stem in place. From base, turnings are: tapering section, two reels, straight bulb with octagonal ring, reel, and straight section at socket, drip pan at top of socket. Both sticks have an "ejector button" at bottom for removing stubs; an iron wire runs through the hollow stem with a brass button at the bottom and at top it connects to the bottom of the candle socket. By pushing the button the entire bottom of the socket moves up. (one of the pair works, the other is too corroded).
