DescriptionDocument from Derby and Jarvis Family documents (collection 2023.18.1), a collection of about 100 deeds and mortgages to land in Concord, from 1777 to 1909. Light blue document, folded. Text written by hand in ink. Text reads, "Know all men by these presents that we, Abriel / Heywood, Jonathan Hildreth and Cyrus Hubbard, the Selectmen of the town of Concord in the County of / Middlesex, by virtue of the power and authority vested / in us by the inhabitants of said town of Concord, in / consideration of the sum of seventy dollars paid by / Francis Jarvis of the same Concord, yeoman, the receipt / whereof we hereby acknowledge, do hereby as agents of said / town, give, grant, sell & convey unto the said Francis / Jarvis, his heirs and assigns, two certain pieces of land / situated in the middle of said Concord, adjacent to / his house lot, namely, the one piece containing by / estimation about four square rods, be the same more or / less, bounded as follows, viz. beginning at the distance of / three feet and three inches, directly in front of, and from / the west corner of the porch of the said Jarvis' bake house, thence south sixty degrees, west fifty three feet, by his / board fence and shed to his barn, as it now stands;..." etc.
