DescriptionTall clock or eight day clock. Mahogany, mahogany veneer, white pine, painted iron, brass, steel. Tall clock. The skirt is supported by flaring bracket feet, flanking a front skirt of paired cyma curves below a veneered base with inlay and cross banding beneath a rectangular waist door of similar treatment and applied moldings, flanked by engaged quarter columns fitted with brass capitals, bases, and stop fluting, all below a deep cove molding and arched hood with columns ornamented with complementary brass work, a brass bead applied to the edge of the dial mat, pierced fretwork and two flanking brass finials with stamped Greek key ornament; eight-day movement with an anchor recoil escapement, rack and snail strike, with lunar and calender wheels mounted behind the 13 in. enamel dial. Central plinth, although original, was never drilled to receive a finial.
