DescriptionPot (kettle) with cover. Cover sits loosely inside rim of pot, easily removed. Pot is cast iron with three cast iron legs applied after casting, and iron bail handle. Pot is relatively deep, with roundedbottom, straight sides, wider at top, slight molding on rim. Rim raised at two points with holes for handle, the ends of which are hooked through the hole. Legs triangular in section, with grooves on all three sides, tapering towards tips. 4 1/8" gate mark on bottom of pot. Cover is simply circular piece of tinplate, roughly cut on edges, with a handle of tinplate with edges rolled over riveted with copper. Top of cover and outside of pot painted.
