DescriptionTop and bottom of wood, with handles cut from same pieces. Nose fits into block at front and bottom piece, with iron ring around outside of block. Nails in wood around nose. Nose is single piece of sheet iron seamed on bottom. Leather is nailed to top and bottom with round-head nails with extra strip of leather under nails. Where top hinges, extra piece of leather runs from bottom over top. Another piece on block. Between these is a reinforcing piece with incised lines. Two bent twigs inside leather as braces. Hole in bottom piece for intake valve, with leather-covered wood inside. Hole in bottom handle for hanging; nail holes for strap that held handles together. Top and bottom stained?
