DescriptionPine, cotton, canvas. Wood footstool with needlepoint upholstery. Stool has end piece set into grooves in each end of top piece. Diagonal corner braces of thin strips of pine are set into slots in edge of top and edge of end on each side of each end piece. Center bottom of each piece is cut out in three-pointed pattern to create four legs. Wood stained reddish brown. Corners of two braces have small triangles of wood added. Upholstery is nailed into edge of top piece with iron nails. Upholstery is needlepoint in reds, blues, and golds, wool thread on canvas backing. Pattern is bargello or "flame" stitch. Used once as transformer.
