DescriptionSkirt to two-piece dress (bodice - COS78.5.1 and skirt - COS78.5.2). Black silk faille, figured velvet. Bodice and skirt. Asymmetrical detail to bodice. Black jet beading at neckline. Slight puff to sleeves; velvet flocking on bodice and skirt. Early 1880s. Updated c. 1890. Basting stitches shorten skirt at top, remove stitches.
