DescriptionBodice to two-piece afternoon dress (Bodice COS0069.0040.1 and skirt COS0069.0040.2). Afternoon dress, brown satin and figured velvet; bodice of satin with front panels of velvet; sleevs tucked to make two puffs; high collar boned. Skirt has front bias drape simulating large bow knot of satin over velvet skirt. Brown silk and figured velvet. Band collar. Short bodice on sides. Very nice dress. Asymmetrical draping to skirt, but not huge bustle. Sleeves beginning to puff (sleeves tight in 1880s, puffed in 1890s). 1884.
