Description1995.20.79a: A folding fan made of ivory sticks and a cream colored, pleated silk leaf. The ivory slats are carved and pierced with decorative designs. The silk is also embellished with applied sequins and spangles. At the head of the fan is a metal loop and an attached cream colored silk tassel and a paper tag. The fan is accompanied by 1995.20.79b: A rectangular, pasteboard box and separating lid. The exterior of the box and lid are covered in silver paper with a blue 5 cent stamp, image of the Minute Man statue.
