Description1995.20.76b: A rectangular, pasteboard fan box, covered with plain ivory paper.The lid features a green 1 cent stamp with "lexington concord" on it.The box accomanies a fan, though it is probably not original box to fan; does not match length. See 1995.20.76a: ivory and paper fan. Ivory is incised and cut with elaborate designs; exterior slats have silver and gilt highlight. Paper band across top 1/4 of fan has colored lithograph scenes of people in pastoral settings. Brass ring with inset green stones (faux gems); attached pink silk tassel.
