Description1995.20.76a: ivory and paper folding fan. The ivory sticks and guard ends are incised and cut with elaborate designs; exterior slats have silver and gilt highlight. A pleated paper band across top 1/4 of fan has colored lithograph scenes of people in pastoral settings. Brass ring with inset green stones (faux gems); attached pink silk tassel. Accomanying the fan is 1995.20.76b: pasteboard fan box, covered with plain ivory paper. 1995.20.1-.197: fan collection.
