Description1995.20.153a: Ivory and net folding fan. The fan features 17 sticks carved and incised with decorative motifs. The sticks support a pleated, white silk net embellished with sequins and spangles in a floral motif. The head of the fan features a steel U shaped ring with two mother of pearl beads at the ends. The fan is accompanied by 1995.20.153b: Pasteboard box with lithograph paper with birds carrying garlands. Makers mark: Stern Brothers/West Twenty-third Street/New York/Fans and opera glasses
