DescriptionLong mahogany tube, round on inside, 10-sided on outside. At lower end is brass fitting with molded edge holding lower lens. On outside is a brass door which slides, with small handle. Lower lens fitting originally nailed over end of tube. At top of tube, another brass fitting, also molded, nailed over end of tube. Inside tube at top is thin brass lining. Into top and fits the sliding piece, a brass tube with one lens held in a brass fitting screwed in at bottom, and a second, smaller lens set inside a molded eyepiece with a small sliding door. By sliding this tube in and out, image is focused. Wood varnished on outside.
