DescriptionFireplace tongs, brass handle, hollow cast, steeple style. Turnings on handle: shallow baluster at bottom, thin ring, straight section, thin ring, reel, large ball with concave band around center, small reel above this, six-sided steeple section, and rings, reels and knob at top. Iron rod goes through center of handle to hold it on. Shoulders are iron piece with circular ends. Slot in one end into which top of pivoting arm fits, with pin for axle. Both arms round in cross section, tips curved together, flattened and roughly shaped to circles.
