DescriptionScouring box with bar of polish. Box has side panels, back panel, bottom panel, front panel all nailed together. High back, with top edge scalloped and hole at top for hanging box on wall. Front panel is very low; sides have long curve from front panel to back. Rectangular scouring block attached to center of back panel. Back and side pieces mechanically planed. Entire box stained dark brown. Polish is a bar of hard, abrasive substance, worn at either end, with label that reads: Black Witch Steel Polish etc. with directions for use and manufacturer's name. Sits loosely in bottom of box. Polish made by Kilmer & Co., Nashua, N.H.
