DescriptionBusswood, soft maple, white oak, hickory. Arm-chair, bow-back Windsor, referred to in old inventories as the "sack-back" chair. Legs and front arms are deeply turned, the "vase" proportion being in the bulbous form. Center stretcher has a ring on either side of the center bulb. Seat oval and very shallow. Spindles are hand-whittled, varying slightly in thickness. Arm rail is bent. Present coat of black enamel, decorated with gold lines, a later addition.
