DescriptionDress (COS87.1.1) and separate sleeves (COS87.1.2) Creme color patterned silk (leaf design) in the Empire style of the 1820's. High waisted bodice, horizontal gathers with creme color silk cording sewn on vertically to hold the gathers in place. Low round neck, short puff sleeves with 3 petals of the dress silk trimmed with lace decoration near hem of the sleeves. Long narrow sleeves (Cos87.1.2) to add if needed (they have a drawstring at the top to fit io arms and slip under the short sleeves). The skirt is cut in four sections and fitted into a narrow waist band with gaters on sides and in back. 12" white wool flannel lining is set in at the skirt hemline. The dress has a back opening from neckline to hip with brass.
