DescriptionPetticoat to four piece afternoon dress (jacket COS0074.0165.1, shirt COS0074.0165.2, skirt COS0074.0165.3) and petticoat (COS0074.0165.4). Afternoon dress. Petticoat is silk with two ttiers of ruffles at the bottom. Pink and white stripe silk, 3 piece, short sleeve, bodice hooks in back. 3/4 length sleeves with ruffle, square neck crochet pink buttoned jacket. Skirt has 3 ruffles, fitted at hips and worn with creme petticoat, bustle back to be worn with Cos74.165a. Evening bodice, pink and white. 1850s had sheer pink net trim. No skirt, incomplete; check history. Pink and white striped silk. 4 pieces; short sleeve bodice, long sleeve bodice with buttons, square neck and ruffle trim, skirt and petticoat. Skirt of Cos74.165 and bodice became a skirt and jacket of 1870s. Petticoat not period, dates to 1908-10. Skirt remade, had buckram to support bustle. May be remade as early as 1868-69.
