DescriptionSkirt to three piece afternoon dress (bodice COS0064.0025.1, skirt COS0064.0025.2, and apron COS0064.0025.3). Deep pink watered silk; very full skirt lined with paper muslin. V neck on square yoke, front and back, lined with linen. Drop shoulder, long sleeves, cuff like yoke. White cotton petticoat, lace trim (Cos64.25a). Does it go with Cos49.30? Coral silk with lace trim. Jacket and skirt with train; afternoon dress, 1867-68, but remade from slightly earlier piece. Bodice, skirt, but heavily gored skirt with long train fastens center back, has been altered from a fuller gown. Bodice buttons have been replaced. Lace is often seen on hats of the period.
