DescriptionBodice to afternoon dress. Afternoon dress (bodice COS0029.0002.1 and skirt COS0029.0002.2), creme white silk surah; skirt with slight train, 2 shirred ruffles at bottom draped over-skirt front and back; bodice back shirred at waist line from pleats laid in at shoulders; 3/4 length sleeves, fine Duchess lace at neck and wrists. Wedding dress? Shoes (Cos29.2a) worn with this dress. Size 34 small. Cream silk surah, duchesse lace. Afternoon dress or wedding dress. Smocking and pleating detail to bodice. Long bodice. Asymmetrical drape to skirt. 1883-84. Long waist, not a big bustle. Shirring in back.
