DescriptionUnder skirt to three piece afternoon dress (bodice COS0071.0019.1, skirt COS0071.0019.2, under skirt COS0071.0019.3). Copper colored, silk, rep 3 piece dress; bodice has long shoulder, tight fit, wide sleeves, trimmed with matching silk fringe and crocheted buttons; underskirt gathered in back with slight train; overskirt gathered in back, quite short in front and long in back; trimmed with matching silk fringe. Copper colored silk. 3 piece dress: jacket, overskirt, underskirt. Trimmed with braid and fringe. Not from 1868, double skirt. Similar material in 1872 wedding dress at Northampton. Short apron front, long apron back to overskirt. Gored skirt beneath. 1869-73/74 at latest.
