DescriptionOne of two keystones. Slate, painted black. Reverse side is unfinished wppd with various makers' marks and stamps ("BOSTON BOY"). "Two keystones of the mantle piece arches in the house of Dr. Joseph Lee, on the old Simon Willard farm, bearing the arms of two branches of the English family of Lee. The first [B]: a chevron between three leopard's faces, being the arms of Lee of Chester; the second [A]: a fesse between three crescents, being the arms of Lee of Ditchley." G.T.
