DescriptionDress sword and sheath (scabbard). Sheath plated with nickel or white metal (rusted on one side), with two circular metal hoops near sword's hilt. Hilt guard elaborately cut out in design of American Eagle, surrounded by the words "E pluribus unum, U.S." Handle covered with snake skin over wood. Civil War.
