DescriptionModel 1860 Foot Officer's Sword in scabbard (A2051.1a), with belt (A2051.1b). Belt has detached from sword. Sword has threaded ebony and brass handle. Hilt is elaborately curved with impressed eagle. In iron (steel?) scabbard with fragments of leather belt. Blade is a polished steel with incised floral motif and the letters US. Belt of leather with U.S. seal on buckle.
