DescriptionWedding dress. Peau de soie (satin), lace, pearls. Ivory satin, dull finish. Empire waist with simple bow at front. V-neckline cut in the satin, with pearl & lace insert creating a round neckline. Matching pearl and lace edging at sleeves. Ribbons attached inside, for hanging, are marked "Priscilla of Boston," but donor purchased the dress at a place called Bride's Shop. Bow closure at nape of neck; train begins at neck. Hem of dress is lined with crinoline material for stiffness. Dress has a series of hooks and ribbons underneath, to raise the train (i.e. for dancing), and to create ruching.
