DescriptionOak. Small six board type chest with hinged lid. Sides rabetted and nailed together, bottom nailed in place. Sides extend down and have pointed arch shape cut out at center to form four legs. Cover hinged with pairs of iron loops, later leatherstraps. Iron lock with keyhole at center front. Remains of fitting for lock on bottom of lid. Front and back edge of lid molded, end edges notched. Side edges of front notched. Carved design on front of chest: two horizontal diamonds, with two curved spurs at each corner, grooves and row of chip carving inside diamonds.
