DescriptionSilk dress in cream with repeating floral pattern with pink and red flowers, white embroidered details, and red or burgundy and green stripes. Bodice shape and back construction suggest dress possibly dates to the 1760s, but there are elements of 20th century alterations to make it larger along the neck, waist, and sleeves, including adding material along the neckline. Bodice has a laced closure with a remaining whale bone structure. Silk has a 19" selvage.
