DescriptionBone and paper fan. Printed colored image of three women and one man, near a fountain, with floral designs surrounding them. On other side, a man and a woman, surrounded by a silver design. People are wearing 18th century clothing, but the image is very close to fan 1995.20.44, which is dated ca. 1840. Bone slats are highlighted with a grey-blue paint. Mother of pearl and brass ring; attached yellow ribbon. Slight tearing to the paper leaves. Written on fan: "Mrs. Jennie B. Gould./ H.A.B. New Bedford/ Mass./ J.S.B./ 1848/ J. Bricher/ This fan formerly the property of H.A.B./ 1810." 1995.20.1-.197: fan collection.
