DescriptionTolman Catalogue: 675. Three Indian Garments of buckskin, brought frmo the west by H.D.T. All the above articles, from Nos. 648 to 676, inclusive, were in H.D. Thoerau's room at his mother's house, and came into posession of Mr. C. E. Davis, or of Mr. George Tolman, after her death by purchase from Sophia Thoreau. (Tolman, p. 44)

Leather shirt (jacket, coat). Chamois-colored leather coat, trimmed with fringe. Possibly Bison. Two pockets, no closing, with collar. Fringe on shoulders and sleeves and sides of coat.. Native American. Collected by Henry Thoreau.
