DescriptionA folding fan composed of Pierced ivory sticks and a pleated, paper leaf. The ivory sticks are carved and pierced with a vegetal motif and accented with silver paint. The paper leaf is also elaborately embellished with a chromolithographic scene of ladies and gentlemen in 17th or 18th century clothing, seated around a card table in a pastoral landscape. The scene is surrounded by a vegetal border in silver paint. The verso of the leaf features a scene of five ladies in a landscape.
