DescriptionPoplar, maple, ash. One of three side chairs; bannister backs. Four bannisters, set into a carved cresting above and a shaped rail below. The cresting is carved in a design frequently met with in American chairs, consisting of two C scrolls seperated by a conventional fleur-de-lis. The stiles and front legs are turned in the vase and ring pattern. Front stretcher has a large double Portuguese bulb. Side and back stretchers are bulbous and slightly molded.
