DescriptionPapier-mache, lacquered. Oval top, box consists of three trays with a lid, fitted together inside a hoop base. Bent handle springs from the base at either side and arches over lid. Decoration: black lacquer finely striped in red and banded with gold. Both sides and in center of lid are oval panels in gold with floral designs in red and black. Hand is decorated with sections of the same gold. In file, called a lunch or work-box.
