DescriptionPine, glass. Rectangular piece of glass set in frame with applied molding and carved and pierced crest and skirt. Crest has asymmetrical design of scrolls and bird, with originally some seven applied rosettes and two applied pieces of fruit. Between scrolls, crest has shell-like fluting carved and pierced in 12 places. Skirt has three scrolls at bottom, each originally with applied rosette. Shell-like fluting and pierced in three places on skirt. Apparently painted white with red and green floral motifs painted on frame molding, crest and skirt, barely visible, and varnished. Possibly gilded. No backing. Frame mitred and nailed at back. Two screw eyes and wire for hanging.
