DescriptionEarthenware. Blue, white glaze as foundation. Body of pitcher painted bright blue, decorated with flowers in gold and an oval chain design under the nose of the pitcher in which was written a name now largely obliterated, probably one name was James. A band of black and white squares runs at the top and at the base of the Pitcher. Snout is painted with gold and the white handle has a leaf design at either end. Cold gilding. Handle with care--watch gilding.
